June 10 – Depart

We departed from Washington Dulles airport at 1:25 in the afternoon on Korean Air flight 94 for an 14 hour and 25 minute 6,479 mile flight to Incheon International Airport in Seoul, Korea. The flight was fine, and we lucked out and got had bulkhead seats. The food was not bad for airline fare, and we made the flight attendant laugh by ordering all Korean meals while the Korean man next to us ordered all western meals.

This is the first time we’ve ever flown so far east that we went west to get there. It was daylight the whole way; we left the afternoon, crossed Canada and Alaska in the afternoon, crossed the Pacific Ocean for one very long afternoon, and arrived in Seoul the next afternoon with no nighttime in between.
