June 19 – Arrival on Koh Samui

On Friday morning, we left Koh Tao by ferry for Koh Samui.

We rented Villa Samprasada, in the hills above Bo Phut. The villa manager met us at the dock, then drove us up to the villa and turned her truck over to us. We threw our bags on the floor, then headed into town where we had enrolled in another Thai cooking class, this time at the Samui Institute of Culinary Arts. This time, we made gai-ta-krai–deep fried chicken patties, tom kha–spicy coconut milk soup, chu-che curry with fish, and fried rice.

That night, we met with the wedding coordinator at the villa to finalize our wedding plans and begin getting the villa ready. The villa really was magnificent, especially at night, with all of the lights on in the gardens.
